lore of the forgotten.
i. First and foremost, this blog will talk about NSFW themes such as violence, gore, blood, depression, mental illness, etc. These will be tagged as tw insert thing here. If you need things tagged a certain way/certain subjects tagged PLEASE let me know! I'll be more than happy to accomodate you.

Things I need tagged are irl/realistic spiders, irl/realistic insects and (i know how wild this sounds) talk about what happens after you die (irl)! I have the basic cw / tw format blacklisted. You can just tag the last one as cw / tw afterlife. It's the best I could come up with.

Sexual NSFW can be implied, but I prefer not to do explicit unless we are good friends and it's in private, like Discord. FTB or timeskipping is totally ok though!

One more thing: because I'm a 24 year old, I would prefer characters and muns to be 18+. Minors are not welcome here. If you are a minor and try to interact, I will block you. It's nothing against you, it's something I simply cannot risk.

ii. Seeing as this is a multimuse, I'm open to interacting with doubles, multimuses, OCs, those outside of YGO, etc! I just ask for a rules and about page (especially for OCs and multimuses).

iii. On the topic of shipping, I go on chemistry. I don't like doing pre-established relationships unless we discuss it first. I like playing slow-burners from hell.

And on that note, this blog will be multiverse and multiship. Verses aren't going to bleed into each other unless it's talked about and agreed upon.

iv. We all know tumblr is a hellsite. It eats notifications and the new dashboard is hell on earth. If we are roleplaying together, please tag me! It's sometimes the only way I'll ever know that you replied or had a starter for me!

v. Don't start or drag me into drama, don't godmod or any of that nonsense, I'm sure you've heard this rant before. Tumblr roleplaying is supposed to be a fun space for everyone, and I want to keep it that way.

vi. Believe me when I tell you, I'm very well aware that trimming is hard right now. Because I had to remake this entire blog from scratch, I am locked in beta. If xkit isn't working for you or you're on mobile and you need me to trim, I've got your back! I would prefer if you could trim your posts but if you can't, I got you.

A vessel. A puppet. Control was a foreign thing to him. Woke up in new places to new faces. New scars littered his body and leftover pain clinging to his body. He long stopped wondering about it. Everybody's got mystery scars, right? Ryo's gentle and kind demeanor is unmistakable, but perhaps one can't help but wonder if it's hiding something underneath.

The best way to describe Ryo would be tired. Tired of the games. Tired of the lies. Tired of waking up to new scars and unfamiliar places. He knew his place: he was just a puppet, strung on wires of fate, hatred, and desire. No matter how hard he tried to reach the strings to cut them, his hands were yanked back into place. There was no escape. He could throw the ring into the middle of the ocean and it would be on his coffee table the next day. Everything he did to rid himself of it did nothing but garner the wrath of the spirit. It drove away his friends. Drove him from his family. It sequestered him into isolation, forcing him to follow its commands. And it took a toll. He could mask his pain with false joy and pleasantries, but he couldn’t stop the ring from hijacking his body and doing what it pleased. This was especially true upon meeting the bearer of the puzzle.

Ryo was never so happy to wake up and find that the damned piece of jewelry was gone. For days, he checked the house three times over to be sure it wasn’t just waiting for him somewhere. A generally angry spirit was bad, but a spirit angry specifically at him was worse. There weren’t any words to describe his euphoria. He hadn’t felt genuine joy in years. His elated cries scared himself. It was done. He was free from his own personal hell. And nobody was taking it from him.

But years of dealing with the spirit changed him. After getting used to the lack of the ring, its years of damage made itself apparent. Ryo was finally allowed to be miserable. He could snap at people any way that he pleased. There was no need to wear a smile on his face to keep people away. He became more brazen in his ventures with spirits and demons. They want his body? They’ll have to work for it. Sign a contract with a demon? Not until he’s swindled it out of its life savings first. He doesn't give a damn if they try to take his body or not. They can't hurt him worse than the spirit. Nothing can.

He’s come to enjoy living alone. Sure, he invites Yuugi and friends to play Monster World, but it still sends shivers down their spines that he still uses Zorc as his Dark Master. In fact, he’s kept a lot of small things the ring spirit left behind. Favorite books, favorite candles, favorite set of dice, among other things. Ryo won’t even sit in the chair that his possessed form preferred the most. Take this information as you will.

Ryo would swear up and down that he was born to be miserable. The oldest of two, he was born in the city of Salisbury, England. His mother was an English national. His father, Japanese. They had come back to England to discuss transferring artifacts to the Domino City Museum, which his father owned and, well. You can figure out the rest. His little sister, Amane, was born a couple years after he was and they were a happy little family.

Until there were a couple... accidents.

Ryo was never supposed to have that ring. His father had taken him to Egypt, excitedly ranting and raving about some ring. The Millennium Ring, as he called it. The name meant nothing back then, but it would define the rest of his life. They got to Egypt. They tracked down the object. A mysterious man allowed his father to put the accursed object around his neck. Seeing his father writhe in pain was terrifying to a little boy like him, and he rushed to help his father.

But the ring.

It called to him.

He didn't think twice about picking it up.

He had no recaollection of what happened after that, but his father never looked at him the same way ever again.

Then the other accident happened.

He will never forget that day. He was at school. His mother and sister had gone grocery shopping and were due to pick him up on the way back. They never came for him. He had to walk home. Ryo didn't understand why there were police cars in his driveway. Why the officers gave him their condolences once he approached the front door. Why they had so many flowers all of a sudden. His father broke the news once they were alone. He's not sure if it ever processed correctly. He barely remembers the funeral services and the burials.

But it was normal to never remember things if the spirit was around.

He eventually, with his father's blessing (and borderline insistence), he got his own apartment far away from what was left of their family. Even as he helped Ryo bring his belongings into his new home, his father told him on the way out,

"It's for the best. I can't have you ruining what little I have left."

It's a sentence that's defined his very way of living.

Haunting Memories. Main Verse.

He’s gone. After years of suffering, he’s gone. The ring, the spirit? Gone. He’s free. Finally, finally free. No more waking up in strange places. No more new scars. No more unexplained bloodstains. His hands are washed of sins that have never been his. Now he can build his life anew, starting from the ground up.

It was harder than he thought. The nightmares plague him. Even in his dreams, he can see the soul room. That cold, dark, wet, suffocating soul room. It was something he’d never forget, no matter how many years he spent in therapy. The scars and pain that came from them served as daily reminders for everything that spirit had done. It robbed him of a childhood. Happiness. Any chance he had of a remotely peaceful life. And he resented it for that.

But he can’t let go, no matter how hard he tries. He can’t bring himself to sit in the spirit’s favorite chair. Every attempt he makes at convincing himself to toss away the spirit’s favorite things he left behind are in vain. That black coat he wore still hung in Ryou’s closet. His favorite candles remain in their place. His favorite books were left alone. Every time he so much as glanced at them, all he could see is the spirit.

Why? Why can’t he let go?

Ashes of the White Mage. RPG AU.

Everyone knew him simply as "The White Mage." A travelling healer with the "gift" of being able to see the dead, he had made quite the name for himself as an incredibly gifted cleric. However, his healing skills were not the only thing that got him a reputation. You see, other adventurers would swear that sometimes Ryo would just...

It was like he just became someone else.

Gifted a mysterious trinket by the archbishop as soon as he gained his robes, he often found himself blacking out. Waking up to find stains across his robes. Bodies strewn about. His adventuring party huddled to the side in awe and terror. When he did recall what was going on, he was the strongest healer of the party. Yet when he didn't... he was a force of terror, they said. A vessel of evil.

But that was many years ago.

It was in his life for as long as this boy could read; he never gave it much thought or consideration. Yet, once he filled that trinket's purpose, it vanished. Destroyed itself to complete the ritual that Ryo had been an unwitting participant in. And now, because of him, there was a dark deity on the loose. A monster, who was now free to rend the land and shape it anew. They call this dark being... Zorc. And now it was running amok, due to White Mage's own hands.

It was an unforgivable sin.

The White Mage died that day, as far as he was concerned. His white robes were abandoned for black; healing magic thrown away to embrace the dark arts that called to him. The spirits have been trying to claim him for years; and now he has fallen into their embrace.

As a final goodbye to the White Mage adored by many, he built himself a funeral pyre and threw his robes in its flames. All that was left of that other him was ashes, scattered into the wind. Now, he shall become a nameless medium, honing necromancy and communing with the dead to fulfill his destiny and become a mage of damnation.

Nobody can say that Isis doesn't take her duties very seriously. She has a way about her that makes just makes you stop and listen. She's commandeering, she's a natural-born leader, she's the glue that holds the unit together. She's not someone that you would want to cross. A firm believer in destiny, certainly, but that does not mean that she has tolerance for nonsense. You get what you pay for, as the saying goes.

Isis is a slender young woman, standing at 5' 5" or 165 cm. She carries herself with confidence and determination. Someone whose way you may want to avoid. Piercing blue eyes outlined with kohl, black hair kept straightened and decorated with golden adornments. A circlet is her wardrobe staple; you will rarely see her without one. Simple golden jewelry is a bit of an Ishtar calling card, and she's no exception. Golden necklaces, arm bands, bracelets, et cetera. She prefers to dress modestly in neutral colors, most often beiges or off-whites. A leftover habit of her former life, she supposes.

Strategic. Methodical. Calculating. These words are quite good at describing Isis. She easily comes off as a no-nonsense, this-is-how-it-is kind of person. There’s no beating around the bush with her. There are facts, she will tell you those facts, and she will not cut any corners.

Not unless it suits her.

Yes, even she is not above manipulating someone if it means meeting a goal. But those are boundaries that she would rather not cross, unless the situation is absolutely dire. If she can avoid it, she will. But if she feels that she has no other choice, then it will happen.

Regardless, Isis is by no means naturally heartless and cruel. Do no wrong by her, and she will do no wrong by you. She will be courteous and kind to those that treat her in the same respect. And her kindness is not to be taken advantage of, as it will be removed as quickly as it was offered. Nothing is free.

A lesson she has learned in more ways than one. But that is talk for another day.

The many years she spent with her Millennium Tauk had driven her to be very focused on the future. Of course she believed very heavily in destiny and fate, but sometimes fate must be changed.

We all know a good example of that.

Even without her tauk, she remains worried and focused on what the future will bring, as opposed to the now. Such worries can cause her to become lost in her work, oftentimes taking on much more than what is necessary. At this point it’s just Isis being Isis.

The middle child, only daughter, and oldest biological Ishtar child, Isis was born into the family of tombkeepers. They had been hoping for a male heir, but that's what Rishid was for. Isis loved Rishid dearly; he was her brother, even if her father heavily disagreed. At least her mother backed her up. They were and are incredibly close. This remained true with the birth of their little brother, the youngest Ishtar, the male heir their father desperately sought: Malik.

Malik's birth changed everything. Her mother died in the process; she wasn't allowed in the room but did catch glimpses of Rishid holding her hand as she left this earth. Their father was too wrapped up in the birth of an heir to care about Rishid's well-being, but that's where Isis stepped in. Just like she always had.

Yet, Isis had to walk two worlds very cautiously. She had to learn to not read body language and intonation to avoid invoking someone's wrath but manipulate her own to the same end. If only Rishid had learned to do the same. His resentment was easy to pick out. She was his shoulder to lean on about the dilemma, but she found that it quickly ended after Malik had been bitten by a snake. She's... still not entirely sure about that chain of events, but was it really her business?

What was her business was Malik's constant begging and pleading to be taken to the outside world. As the heir of the tombkeepers, such things were strictly forbidden. She and Rishid gently reminded him of this. If only their father knew the meaning of that word. But unlike Rishid, she did the unthinkable.

Isis Ishtar, Keeper of the Pharaoh's Tomb,

cracked.

She never said a word to Rishid. And she certainly didn't breathe a word of it to her father. She took Malik's hand, put a finger to her lips, and whisked him up those stairs and out those stone doors to the hot Egyptian desert. Malik's eyes struggled to adjust to the light at first, as did hers, but she did her best to guide him to town while his eyes adjusted. The sights, the stalls, the everything entranced Malik in a way she had never seen. It was the happiest she'd ever seen him. It was the happiest she had ever been. The wonder and delight, especially at that one picture of a motorcycle, was a precious thing to her. She'd nearly forgotten about having to go home until that vision of a mysterious man appeared before them.

Oh, by the gods, they'd better get home before anyone notices. Malik didn't want to leave and complained the entire way back, but she told him, rather harshly in hindsight, to keep his mouth shut before anyone hears them.

They weren't expecting to be met at the bottom of the stairs.

He knew they were gone the whole time.

They had tripped a simple alarm system that neither had picked up or seen in the dark. Her whole world collapsed in on itself. The shame of having knowingly broken the clan's rules, the fear of what would happen to Rishid, to Malik, to her. The rest of that night barely exists in memory, as does its aftermath. The things she recalls the clearest is discovering the mutilated corpse of her father, Malik covered in blood, and Rishid needing bandages for his face. Malik insisted that it was the Pharaoh that had caused all this, but Isis held her doubts. There... there was no way that the Pharaoh was responsible. No, no, no, no, no--

She had to find out after the fact, from Rishid, that Malik had an anger inside him, an alter ego, that was responsible for it. She had to save Malik from himself. And she didn't care who she had to string up to do it.

What I Could've Done. Main Verse.

Taking Malik to the surface was a mistake. She should’ve said no when he begged and pleaded. She should have stood her ground when he cried for her to let him go, just that one time. But she relented. Isis loved her brother, and she’d want to see him happy. So against her better judgment, she took him.

He looked so happy, seeing the surface for the first time. The stars in his eyes when he saw the technology, the shops, that picture of a motorcycle. For a moment, she thought she did the right thing.

And then came Shaadi. He warned her that she was making a grave error. And she knew he was right. They needed to return before they were found out. She seized her brother by the arm and took him home, only for her greatest fear to be confirmed: he knew they were gone the whole time. A simple contraption would warn him if they left, and she didn’t see it. She put her little brother in the face of danger, because of her failure to discover a simple alarm system.

The guilt she felt worsened when she saw what became of Malik next. A dark personality came forth and killed her father. She could’ve been next if Rishid hadn’t stepped in. Worst of all, he blamed the Pharaoh. He pinned fault with the pharaoh when it was her that triggered this sequence of events by allowing him to the surface.

Can Malik forgive her? Can Rishid? The fault here, to Isis, lies with her. If she’d just listened to duty, didn’t stray from destiny, this never would have happened.

If only she’d never cut ties with her rightful fate.

He goes by many names. The Thief King. The King of Thieves. He who wields the chimera. The boy the tauk forgot. Bakura. There was no crying, no grieving, if he were to see another sunrise. His childhood, his former life, died with his village. From the ashes of the inferno shall rise a phoenix, a plague upon the pharaoh and his bloodthirsty brethren.

The Thief King's appearance is... misleading. He may or may not have greatly exaggerated aka straight-up lied about his appearance in Memory World. He's far from the tall, muscular King of Thieves that appeared before the pharaoh. The King of Thieves is scrawny. Small. Built for dexterity. His small stature is what helped him earn that title. He can fit into spaces many of his competitors could not, and it was easy to run circles around those guards who expected a bigger target.

The King of Thieves himself can be only described as an enigma. He changes his tune to fit the scenario. To those who just met him, he seems approachable. Friendly. Charming. Always willing to lend a helping hand to the poor and desperate. He can laugh and joke with you. Tell you stories about his many adventures. But when you part ways, you may eventually realize that you used to have a wallet and a watch. His victims will never know what hit him, and the King of Thieves will walk away a few items richer. At the same time, he can change personas on a dime. He can be cold. Focused. Hardened. You need to be that way if you're ever going to survive in the criminal underworld.

Make no mistake; he is still prone to error. He's impulsive, reckless, suspicious of everyone and everything. The King of Thieves doesn't take handouts! He may be the King of Thieves, but he's still young. He died young. And you can most certainly tell.

The Thief King was born and raised in the small village of Kul Elna. The village itself had a seedy reputation, being the chosen home of thieves and other criminals. But as most reputations go, that was not entirely true. In fact, that seemed to be less and less true as time went on. His childhood memories are murky at best, but as far as he remembered, he hadn't recalled seeing anything remotely criminal in hindsight. His parents certainly weren't. It was a happy life until they came.

He'd been asleep until the sounds of screaming and flame woke him up. What he saw when he looked outside his window is a sight that will be burned into his memory for the rest of his natural life and after. Soldiers slaughtering poeple in the streets. Men, women, children, it didn't matter. It was like they weren't even human. He saw soldiers barging into homes and dragging people out by their hair. Some were dead, some weren't. Yet. He had the sense to escape his home before they came looking for him. And the vat. The vat. Filled with molten gold and being dumped with people and bodies. He'll never forget the scent of burning flesh, the sight of people in the gold and the screams of the dying. Yet, as thorough as they were, they never saw him. He was the boy that time forgot.

He didn't sleep that night and didn't dare to move from his hiding spot under a house for at least two days. There was nothing left of Kul Elna. Not a living, breathing soul. They didn't even leave the livestock to see another sunrise. There was hardly a thing to eat or drink. He was going to die here, wasn't he? Though, if memory served him right, there was a funny carving in a cellar that people sometimes stopped and gawked at. Accepting his fate, he laid down next to the carving and talked to it. It wasn't going to respond back, he knew that, but it was the only company he had. It was like that for a couple days. Yet, once he was on the verge of giving up, he felt something pressing on his side. Bakura didn't dare move, believing it to be a soldier coming to finish the job, but it rolled him onto his back. There, hovering over him, was the creature from the carving.
His friend.
His savior.
His ka.
Diabound.

With his ka at his side, the King of Thieves pulled himself off the ground and left Kul Elna behind after hosting the best memorial that he could. He will avenge them. His family. His friends. The pharaoh and his sadistic servants will never know peace. Not until they've paid for what they've done. Hell will be brought to their doorstep, and they will know the meaning of pain soon enough. Falling from Death’s Grasp. Main Verse (Modern).

He thought he’d be trapped forever. Destined to lose himself in the pull and grasp of someone stronger than him. But he’d stand alone as long as he could. He was no pushover, even in limbo. Zorc had to work for his cooperation, and when he got it, they were an unstoppable force. Everything in their way was annihilated beyond recognition. Maybe working with him wasn’t so bad after all.

But the grip on his soul was suffocating. Spending so much time forced together in one place was causing a merger. At first, he didn’t mind; they had the same goals after all. His body was lost to a devil, his soul was bonded to a devil, but he wasn’t losing his mind to a devil, too. He was too headstrong for that. Nevertheless, both parties were satisfied.

Until a certain host. TKB never thought to disagree until this point, and by the time he got around to arguing with Zorc, he had set in motion his plan. Not their plan, Zorc’s. TKB not included. He was furious, and he ended up causing such a distraction that it deterred the plan to the point of failure. The time he spent in the afterlife was brief, as he was once again cast from death, to life. In his own body. Lying on his back in some alley. He was free. Finally, finally free. There was so much to see, so much to do, but he could still feel Zorc linger … It’s just paranoia, right?

The Sands of Egypt. Main Verse (Ancient Egypt).

He had two choices: stay, or die.

There was nothing left to call home. The once bustling town was reduced to bloodied sands and ash. There was nothing alive left; he checked every house. TKB stayed as long as he could, as there was only so much food and drink to survive on. When that ran out, he was content to lay down and die.

Until he met Diabound.

With this newfound companion, he picked himself off the ground and left behind everything he knew. He would have to fend for himself elsewhere. Better yet, he’d exact revenge. He’d kill the pharaoh with his bare hands for what he did to his home.

But who could take some kid like him seriously?

It would have to wait. In the meantime, he’d need to do something else. Something that would be of use to him and help him live long enough to enact the real goal.

It should be no surprise that he turned to thievery.

His young age and small stature made it easy. Hell, he seemed to be quite the natural. The boy aspired to be the best of the best, and thus was very selective with who he chose to work under. It was these efforts that earned him the title of King of Thieves, as he dedicated his entire childhood and most of his teenage years to be a force to reckon with.

He may be young, but he’s no fool. Be wary of this boy king.

The True Formof Zorc Necrophades is demonic in appearance. He stands at the height of a small skyscraper, with a pitch black body with draconic qualities.

His eyes are bright red, with reptilian slits for pupils. His teeth are sharp, as are his clawed hands and feet. Even his wings are adorned with them. Even the lightest touch will cause injury. The horns on his head are just as sharp, which is useful when he is required to use them on an enemy.

With this massive height comes massive strength. If one were to be so unfortunate as to be within attack range, they will be killed effortlessly. This form’s muscles reflects this, and it is something he is quite pleased with.

It is this height and strength that serves as a downfall. His movement is very slow and his range when standing still is limited, which requires him to move around to cover a bigger space. this also requires a lot of energy, which he has to retrieve through darkness. Zorc excels in battle at night, since this energy is abdundant. The daytime, however, is a different story. He would prefer to avoid engaging in the daytime whenever possible.

The Weakened Form of Zorc Necrophades was not one born out of competence. To exit his own realm, he had to sacrifice much of himself. As a result, he was left with his conscious and the core part of his being, which was just enough to allow him to exist. To protect himself, he hijacks any shadow he can. Due to the added mass, the shadow will appear bigger than it should.

When he is addressing someone while their shadow is present, he can use that shadow to temporarily construct an shadowy illusion of that person. It will be transparent for the most part with a violet palette color scheme. And it will be almost a perfect copy of that person, with some imperfections. Zorc is a god of darkness but that doesn’t make him PERFECT. Even he can fuck up.

CALLING HIM A MONSTER IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT.

Empathy is lost on him. It is simply a feeling that serves no purpose. All it does is create weak-minded fools that are just asking to get murdered. But they do make for good pawns. Maybe that’s why he loves to use them. Just look at that fool. What’s his name, Akhenaden? Something like that. He used the souls of the innocent to call on powers that he can’t begin to comprehend. Words on a page are useless if you cannot understand them. If he knew what he was begging for, that papyrus would have been burned to ash.

Zorc’s predisposition to prey on the weak led him to keep an eye on that lone child the all-seeing eye never saw. An oversight that played right into his hands? Claws? Doesn’t matter.

When the time was right, Zorc struck. Like a predator to prey, he lured the boy in and sent him to slaughter. Due to the restrictions of his realm, he needed someone else to do the dirty work. It was dangerous enough to stick his head out to talk to that boy like he did. That child played his part, but that damned pharaoh threw a wrench in his plot. He was just thankful that he was stupid enough to seal him inside a portal to his realm. Better yet, his child vessel was in that same portal! Not what he planned on, but it worked out quite well.

Zorc is naturally manipulative, using those around him to further his plans. His favorite people to target are those who are emotionally compromised. The demon is fully aware of how emotions drive people to act, and he always does his best to use it to his advantage. The moment he catches a whiff that he can use them, he hones in. He’ll pull every trick in the book to get them to see things his way. When someone has served their purpose, they’re useless and will be discarded as such. He has no use for someone who has either served their purpose or cannot and will not break for him.

When at full power, he can use his shadow powers to build worlds, create minions, trap opponents, among other things. He can force his enemies into illusions, much like a shadow game. But Zorc’s games are more complex, with bigger ramifications for the loser. What’s the fun when there’s nothing big on the line? However, these are things that are limited to him at full power.

Due to being in a weakened state, the best he can do at the moment is create shadow illusions for his soul to occupy and hijack shadows. There’s not much outside of that he can do.

EXCEPT ONE THING.

He can possess someone, but he cannot force his way in his current state. He’ll have to negotiate. Form a contract, if you will. These negotiations are binding on both ends. Such is the way he constructed the realm, whose laws he is still bound by. He built it in as a last resort, with the assumption that it would never come to that. But it has. He may be a bit of a procrastinator, but at least he put in a lot of safeguards. And if he has to give up some autonomy to further his ultimate plan, fine. It’s better than nothing.

Zorc was a mistake. An error. An afterthought. It hadn't ever occured to his fellow deities that such a simple thing as the darkness in people's hearts could create a being whose power matched theirs. They hadn't even heard of him until he appeared on their radar from an incident.

Akhenaden was not the first to try and tap into Zorc's power. A dynasty long before he was even a thought sought him out to cement themselves as an eternal ruler. A stupid boy-king as far as Zorc was concerned. But he was in no position to turn him down. If he was incompetent enough to seek him, then surely he could be incompetent enough to release him.

He didn't count on him being so sloppy.

It was only then that the other gods even knew he existed. Knew how dangerous he was. There wasn't many a deity that could compete with such power, except for one.

Horakhty, the Creator God of Light.

She was the one name that struck fear into Zorc's non-existent heart.

But they reasoned that Zorc must've been young if they only picked up his existence just now. Maybe he just needed a place in this hierarchy of deities. And thus they bestowed upon him a realm and a purpose.

He was the keeper of shadows. A keeper of souls unworthy of the afterlife.

If it meant keeping her from erasing him from existence, then it is a role he will take. But he will plan. He will bide his time. He will build a kingdom from the damned. He only had to wait some odd hundred years until someone idiotic enough came along seeking his power.

Well, actually, it was two people.

A priest desperate to protect his kingdom, and a child whose life was destroyed by the former. He couldn't have asked for a better deal if he tried. So he did what he did best, play both sides to get what he wanted. He can babysit a mortal child while manipulating a man that feared for his kingdom and soon came to crave his own son to sit upon the throne. And gods be damned, he actually made the things necessary to bring him to the mortal plane.

But that pharaoh.

That pesky pharaoh and his pets.

He was bound to an item that was meant to free him. Worse yet, he was stuck in here with that foolish boy he was using for kicks! Why couldn't it have been the other one!? No matter. He will bide his time. he will bide his time and wait.

The pharaoh shall come to pay for his idiocy and pave the way for his return with his life.

The Toll. Main Verse.

He waited years for this moment.

In silence, he brooded and sulked in the darkness. The puppet he spent all those millennia grooming and building up finally broke down. The soul he manipulated came crashing down into nothing, as it should have so long ago. His portal to the mortal world was destroyed alongside it. He had no access anymore. All he had was himself and his makeshift kingdom.

But he did have a ray of hope.

The portal left a weakness in its walls. If he broke through … It was risky, but worth a shot. He, the dark god of the Shadow Realm, slaved away at that weakness. He made valiant attempts to claw and attack it, trying to push it to collapse. And it did. Kinda. The hole was small, but it was there. Of course Zorc jumped on this opportunity! With furor and desperation, he managed to squeeze through.

And it was a lot more painful than he ever recalled.

Exiting his realm without the use of a portal caused agony to shoot through his body. He felt as if the life was being crushed out of him. His body felt as if it was caving in, his soul being squeezed through every orifice. For a moment, he thought he was going to die.

But he made it.

Yes, finally, he made it to the realm of mortals. But he felt different. He felt … lighter. It took a moment for him to realize what had become of him. Leaving the Shadow Realm in such a manner had reduced him to his core being: a mass of shadow-like energy.

He totally forgot about that toll he had in place.

Exiting and entering the Shadow Realm with no portal (like the millennium items) came at a price. Zorc just did that to amuse himself, as he had assumed he’d never leave his realm without a portal.

What a fool he was.

He can’t even go back like this, for he has nothing to pay. He was trapped here. Now he had to figure out a plan. How was he going to pull the rest of himself and his true power from the Shadow Realm with no portal? Nevermind that, What was the price to pay? Not even he knew what tolls were taken on those who dared to enter adn exit that realm, and he couldn’t alter it in this state. And when he found out the toll, would it be worth the price?

Zorc’s fate hung loosely in his hands.
